Set in the heart of Big Sky Country, TouroCOM’s Montana campus blends hands-on medical training with affordable, small-town living and endless adventure beyond the classroom. In Great Falls, you’ll find an active, welcoming community and an atmosphere defined by volunteerism, exploration, and academic excellence.

Academics & Clinical Experience

At TouroCOM Montana, learning happens through practice and purpose. Students build a strong academic foundation in the sciences and apply their knowledge early through simulation, lab work, and clinical experience in state-of-the-art facilities.

Located within the Great Falls medical corridor, the campus offers direct access to Benefis Health System and Great Falls Clinic & Hospital — two of the region’s leading healthcare providers. These partnerships offer meaningful patient interaction and mentorship from practicing physicians. Students also gain exposure to both urban and rural healthcare settings, where care often means stabilizing patients for transfer to larger centers.

Research Opportunities

Research and discovery thrive in Great Falls through a collaboration with the Weissman Hood Institute at Touro (WHIT). You’ll have the chance to participate in groundbreaking research in Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, macular degeneration, ALS, diabetes, mental health, suicidality, and rural health.

Our Great Falls campus is also home to the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP), a one-month intensive research experience followed by a year-long immersion at WHIT. The program offers hands-on training for students who aspire to bridge laboratory research with clinical care.

In Great Falls, you get to live in a beautiful place without sacrificing convenience. You can earn your medical degree during the week while hiking and skiing on the weekends. If you have an adventurous spirit, you’ll feel at home at TouroCOM Montana.

Discover Great Falls

Having grown up in southwest Virginia, I’ve always appreciated the outdoors and enjoyed hiking. Living in Montana has allowed me to continue exploring these interests in a new and beautiful environment.

Student Life & Campus Culture

At TouroCOM Montana, community grows naturally — through student groups, events, activities, organizations, and friendships that form outside the classroom. With small cohorts, ambitious peers, and an active Student Government Association, every student can find a place to lead, contribute, and thrive.

Mentorship, Support, and Outreach

Mentorship and service are woven into everyday life on our Great Falls campus. From structured peer programs that connect students across cohorts to outreach experiences that strengthen ties with the surrounding area, these experiences help students grow as future physicians and community members.

Mentorship Program: This program pairs upperclassmen with incoming master’s or DO students for guidance, professional development, and connection through workshops and social events.

Buddy Program: This support program helps first-year students find their footing quickly while building lasting friendships by matching peers within the same class year.

TOUCH Program: Service is central to student life at TouroCOM Montana. As part of the Translating Osteopathic Understanding into Community Health (TOUCH) program, students can log hundreds of volunteer hours supporting local and regional initiatives  — from food drives to youth programs to health fairs.

I have never felt like just a number at TouroCOM Montana, but rather part of a community that truly has my back.

— Muhammad Tabani (Class of 2029)

Clubs and Organizations

With dozens of student-run clubs and professional organizations, there are plenty of ways to explore specialties, connect with your peers, and pursue your passions beyond the classroom.

Students join wellness and outdoor clubs like the Skiing and Snowboarding Club, professional and academic groups like the Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA), and affinity and service organizations that foster inclusion and community engagement.

Community Service

Service lies at the heart of TouroCOM Montana’s mission. From welcome events organized by the local Rotary Club to community partnerships across the city, students quickly feel part of Great Falls.

Students partner with organizations such as Rocky Boy Health Center, the Indian Family Health Clinic, and Great Falls Hospital to deliver care and education to rural and tribal communities. Our students also support local initiatives like the Back-to-School Blast, Trunk-or-Treat, and Research Day, as well as outreach through the Boys & Girls Club, Toby’s House Crisis Nursery, and The Salvation Army.

Beyond service, you’ll have the opportunity to explore health challenges unique to the Great Falls region through community-based research on issues such as environmental pollution, colorectal cancer rates, and access disparities — connecting Touro’s mission of care with the real needs of Montana’s communities.

I wanted to connect with my community in a meaningful way. Volunteering and engaging with local residents has been one of the best decisions I’ve made.

— Sriteja Kankanala (Class of 2028)
