Tamie Proscia-Lieto, MD, MBA

For over 20 years I have been involved with medicine and medical education. I pursued a traditional Internal Medicine Residency Program at Staten Island University Hospital. After my Chief Residency, I remained on as a full time faculty member at SIUH. I became an Assistant Director of Medicine, a position with many roles including developing a Clinical Practice to serve a community in need and overseeing the medical education of residents and 3rd and 4th year medical students. During this time I was appointed to the academic staff of both Downstate and Mount Sinai School of Medicine. I later trained in Nutrition Support and became a Certified Nutrition Physician Specialist and practiced in a Medical Nutrition Practice. As a strong advocate of quality healthcare, and excellence and professionalism in medicine, I also served as a Peer Reviewer for IPRO. Since I really enjoy teaching, I became an instructor of Anatomy, Physiology / Clinical Nutrition and Biology and served as Faculty at Eastwick College for Medical Sciences and as the Department Chair of Science at the Immaculate Heart Academy. In 2011, I joined the Faculty Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine as an Adjunct Assistant Professor for the Physical Diagnosis and OSCE courses, before joining TouroCOM as full time Faculty at Middletown to be the Course Director for Physical Diagnosis. I have also been an active member of the American College of Physician and was nominated and elected to serve on the Governor’s Council of its New Jersey Chapter in 2013.
