Dr. Mariluz P. Mojica Henshaw is a dedicated medical professional with specialization in biochemistry, human genetics and regenerative medicine. She has extensive teaching and research experiences in human biochemistry, basic stem cell biology, and molecular biology over the last 25 years. Prior to and immediately after pursuing graduate studies, Dr. Henshaw taught and coordinated Human Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics courses to first year medical and graduate students at the University of the Philippines, College of Medicine in Manila, Philippines. She did a medical research fellowship in Immunology at the International Center for Medical Research at Kobe University School of Medicine in Kobe, Japan and pursued her graduate studies in Human Genetics including post-doctoral work on directed differentiation of human embryonic stem cells at the University of Utah in Salt lake City, UT.  Immediately prior to joining TouroCOM, Dr. Henshaw was a Research Scientist at the Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine Program at the University of Utah, where she developed and executed research projects that were translational in nature; and manufactured clinical-grade hMSCs for cell therapy.  Dr. Henshaw is passionate about teaching and is thrilled at the opportunity to interact with and facilitate learning of students at TouroCOM.
