Stacey L. Fanning, PhD
Dr. Fanning received her Ph.D. in Immunology and Molecular Pathology from the Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at New Jersey Medical School. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the regulation of interferon-alpha production by plasmacytoid dendritic cells. This was followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center. Here, her research interests turned to cellular immunotherapy for malignant disease. During her post-doc, Dr. Fanning’s research projects focused on separating graft-versus-host disease from graft-versus-tumor effects in murine models of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. After a position as Visiting Assistant Professor at The College of New Jersey where she taught Genetics and General Biology, Dr. Fanning returned to the lab at HackensackUMC. As a Research Associate, she studied immune reconstitution during extracorporeal photopheresis therapy for the treatment of chronic graft-versus-host disease. At TouroCOM, Dr. Fanning’s research projects continue to explore immune functioning and immune reconstitution after cellular immunotherapy.
