Early Decision at TouroCOM

The Early Decision Program (EDP) is for highly qualified candidates who consider TouroCOM their first-choice medical school. EDP applicants receive special early consideration during our application cycle and is available on all TouroCOM campuses - Harlem, NY, Middletown, NY, and Great Falls, MT. When applying to TouroCOM’s EDP you will need to select which TouroCOM campus you would like to attend - Harlem, NY, Middletown, NY, or Great Falls, MT. You can only apply for early decision on one TouroCOM campus. There is no limit to EDP seats at each campus.

If you apply as an early decision candidate, you can only apply to TouroCOM (no other medical schools) and you are committing to attending TouroCOM if you are accepted.

If you are not accepted as part of EDP, your application will go into TouroCOM’s general admission pool. You will be notified with enough time to apply to other medical schools.

Deadlines to Apply Early Decision

The verified AACOMAS primary application must be received by the admissions office by August 1.
All application materials (secondary application, letters of recommendation, Casper/Duet results, and MCAT score) must be received by the admissions office by August 15.

Early Decision Admission Requirements

In addition to the requirements below, you must meet all general admission requirements, including completing the Casper and Duet exams by July 31.

  • TouroCOM must be your first choice for studying medicine. You cannot apply to other medical schools.
  • Your overall cumulative GPA should be 3.5 or higher.
  • Your overall science cumulative GPA should be 3.5 or higher.
  • Your overall MCAT score should be 504 or higher, taken in January 2022 or later.
  • If accepted early decision to TouroCOM, the commitment is binding, and you are therefore committed to attending TouroCOM (the campus you selected or were assigned).

EDP Decisions

If you are not selected for an interview, your application will be considered as part of the general admissions applicant pool, and you will be notified with enough time to apply to other medical schools.

If selected, your interview will be conducted between late August through early October. You will receive notification of an admissions decision by October 15.

If you are interviewed as an EDP candidate, and your application is deferred, it will be considered in our general applicant pool, and you will be notified so you can apply to other medical schools.

If your application is rejected, it is not eligible to be considered in our general applicant pool, and you will receive notification so you can apply to other medical schools.

Early Decision Acceptance

If offered admission through the EDP, you will be required to submit a tuition (acceptance) deposit of $3000 to TouroCOM by November 4.
