12/7/17 9:45 AM NYCOMEC Lecture: Bridging The Gap Between UME And GME
NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine
Nelson A. Rockefeller Academic Center, Old Westbury, NY 11568
The process of educating and molding a new osteopathic physician is a continuum that starts during medical school and progresses through residency training. Many times there is a disconnect between the UME and GME arms of medical education. Does the student physician have the necessary foundation of knowledge and skills necessary to progress to the clinical level as an extern or as a postgraduate trainee? What are the NYCOMEC Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine doing well and what can be improved in the curriculum to help produce a better physician. TouroCOM’s very own Dr. Stephen Jones & Dr. Arthur Prancan will be speaking at this program.
