As we prepare for the D.O. Class of 2026 commencement ceremony, the following information is provided to facilitate the coordination of your activities.

Event Overview

Dates & Times

Harlem D.O. Commencement Ceremony - Thursday, May 28, 2026, 3:00 PM at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

Middletown D.O. Commencement Ceremony - Monday, June 1, 2026, 1:00 PM at the Paramount Theater.

All TouroCOM graduation venues are wheelchair accessible.

Dress Code

The dress code for graduates and attendees is semi-formal or business casual attire.

Tickets

Graduates will not need tickets. Harlem graduates are allotted six (6) guest tickets for the Lincoln Center ceremony, and Middletown graduates are allotted six (6) tickets for the Paramount Theater ceremony. For students requiring additional tickets, please communicate with your fellow classmates who may not need all their allotted guest tickets. If additional tickets are available after distribution to the graduates, you will be notified.

Children need tickets only if they require their own seat.
Harelm Graduates: In accordance with Lincoln Center policy, every individual entering the venue must possess a ticket. This requirement applies to all, including infants and young children.

Hooding

The person who hoods a graduate during commencement may be a person with a doctoral degree in the health professions (e.g., DO, MD, Pharm.D, DDS, DPM, DPT, Ph.D. in biological sciences, etc.). Please note one person per student for hooding. The person whom you designate to hood you is not exempt from needing a ticket for entry unless they are a current faculty member. Persons hooding are allowed to wear regalia of their own; however, it is NOT a requirement. 

If you would like a designated person to hood you at graduation, please complete the Harlem D.O. Class of 2026 Invitations and Hooding Form. (The link will be provided at a later date)

Middletown Graduates: If you would like a designated person to hood you at graduation, please make sure that information has been entered on the graduation survey that has been sent out.

Graduation Attire Ordering and Distribution

All Campuses: Herff Jones College Grad

SSP Sashes will be ordered by the Chapter and distributed by the Office of Student Affairs. 

Honor Cords will be distributed by the Office of Student Affairs. 

Photographs

Harlem: Professional photographs of the commencement will be available for download within 24 hours of the event.

Middletown: Link and QR code will be provided to the students.

Conferral of Degree & Commencement Ceremony

According to Touro University policy, you are considered to be a “Candidate for Graduation” status until the institution confirms you are eligible to receive a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree. Your diploma will be printed with the name that appears on your Touro University record. 

Harlem Campus and Middletown Campus: Diplomas will be distributed after the ceremony by the Office of the Registrar to those students who have fulfilled ALL of the necessary requirements.
