Annual Fund contributions provide essential support for TouroCOM Harlem’s operating budget and campus improvements. By participating, you join a community of alumni, faculty and friends of TouroCOM that has a lasting impact on the school and its students.
TouroCOM Harlem Dean’s Advancement Fund
Contributions to the Dean’s Advancement Fund provide the College the greatest flexibility to address areas of need. These gifts go to work immediately to support or enhance TouroCOM’s pro-grams and initiatives and allow the Dean to invest in opportunities and projects as they arise.

Sheldon Sirota, DO Scholarship Fund
The Sheldon Sirota, DO Scholarship Fund was established by the Sirota Family and Touro College and University System to honor the legacy of one of TouroCOM’s founders. Dr. Sheldon Sirota’s extraordinary career enriched the field of osteopathic medicine during more than a half-century of service. The scholarship founded in his name is open to students entering the third year at Touro-COM Harlem, and provides financial support to deserving students to enable them to pursue their professional goals.
Martin Diamond, DO Scholarship Fund
The Martin Diamond, DO Scholarship fund honors the contributions of TouroCOM Founding Dean Dr. Martin Diamond. Dr. Diamond’s eminent career encompasses four decades practicing osteopathic medicine while enhancing osteopathic medical education through his leadership at the state and national level. The Martin Diamond Fund provides scholarships to deserving underrepresented minority students based on financial need and academic achievement to give them the opportunity for a medical school education.
Jay Sexter, PhD Scholarship Fund
The Jay Sexter, PhD Scholarship Fund was created to honor the career of founding CEO of Touro-COM, Dr. Jay Sexter, who played an instrumental role in TouroCOM’s founding and in the flourish-ing of osteopathic medical education nationwide. The Jay Sexter Scholarship is open to all students, and awardees are selected based on financial need, academic achievement, and service to the school and community.
Tracy Tam, DO Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Tracy Tam, DO Memorial fund was created in memory of Dr. Tracy Tam, a 2013 graduate whose abundant life and promising career were cut tragically short. The fund distributes one scholarship each year to a second-year medical student who embodies the personal and professional qualities of Dr. Tam.
Lissa Hewan-Lowe, DO Support Fund
The fund was established by TouroCOM Alumna Lissa Hewan-Lowe, DO to help other single mothers from underrepresented communities attend medical school, as she did. The Lissa Hewan-Lowe, DO Support Fund awards one scholarship annually to a TouroCOM DO student who is in good academic standing, from an underrepresented or underserved community and who is a single parent.
Ayaka Den Memorial Emergency Fund
Established in memory of Ayaka Den, a member of the TouroCOM Harlem class of 2011. Contributions to this fund will be granted to students in dire need of emergency financial relief, confidentially and at the discretion of the dean. Students who borrow from the Fund are required to return the same amount of money to the Fund.
TouroCOM Harlem MedAchieve Scholarship Fund
Donations to the MedAchieve Scholarship Fund directly benefit high school students from the local Harlem community interested in pursuing a career in medicine. TouroCOM Harlem’s after-school MedAchieve program empowers these students to become physicians and healthcare providers locally and in underserved communities nationwide by providing mentoring and career counseling, hands-on lab experience and academic enrichment in the sciences.
The Michael Hardy, Esq and Geoffrey E. Eaton Community Advisory Board Scholarship
The Michael Hardy, Esq and Geoffrey E. Eaton Community Advisory Board Scholarship is named in honor of two founding members of the TouroCOM Community Advisory Board in Harlem, NYC. The Scholarship was established to recognize outstanding potential in those students who come from communities underrepresented in the medical field.
TouroCOM Harlem Class Gift
The Class Gift promotes a philanthropic spirit among the graduating class by providing students an opportunity to leave their legacy at TouroCOM with a unique gift to the school, enhancing the building and student experience while commemorating the graduating class.
