He is currently the Assistant Pre-Clinical Dean and an Associate Professor in Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM), Great Falls, Montana. He received his bachelor’s in pharmacy, master’s in pharmacology and PhD in Pharmacy (specialization: Pharmacology) from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. Dr. Pramanik was an honor student throughout his school and college levels and was recognized by being awarded the prestigious ‘Gold Medal Award’ from Jadavpur University. In 2015, after completion of his postdoctoral training in cancer pharmacology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) and Penn State University, he joined as an Assistant Professor at Department of Pharmacology, Penn State College of Medicine, Penn State University, Hershey, PA.
In 2017, Dr. Pramanik joined Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM) and Kentucky College of Optometry (KYCO), University of Pikeville as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology where he taught medical pharmacology courses and was actively involved in basic science research. In 2018, he became course director of Pharmacology in KYCOM and KYCO. In 2019, he became a National Faculty in the Department of Foundational Biomedical Sciences of National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME). Dr. Pramanik served on several UPIKE-KYCOM committees, including the faculty affairs committee, curriculum committee, research committee, faculty search committee, admission committee, curriculum task force committee, UPIKE research symposium committee. He served as chair of faculty search committee, research committee, UPIKE symposium committee and vice-chair of curriculum committee. Currently, he serves to several TouroCOM’s administrative committees.
His contribution in cancer research is evident in his impressive publication record in leading oncology journals, including Clinical Cancer Research (CCR), Molecular Cancer Therapeutics (MCT), Antioxidant Redox Signaling (ARS), Carcinogenesis, and Oncotarget, PLoS One, etc. He is also a lead inventor on all his patents. In addition, he published several book chapters from his excellent research work. His outstanding research work was also featured in the cover page and research news section of “Clinical Cancer Research” Journal, published by AACR. He has received several prestigious honors and awards, including a research excellence award from Texas Tech University. Dr. Pramanik’s research work was funded several times intramurally.
Dr. Pramanik serves as reviewer, board member and guest editor in several leading cancer journals.
