TouroCOM-Middletown Hosts First Annual Formal
Middletown students celebrate the end of their first year.
On May 7, about 130 students and faculty of Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM)-Middletown celebrated the end of their first academic year at an elegant Spring Formal held at Anthony’s Pier 9 in New Windsor, New York.
Besides a five-course dinner, students enjoyed a sushi bar, open cocktail bar, and hot butler-passed hors devours (such as black pepper steak on rosemary croutons, teriyaki salmon, southwest chicken salad on tortilla shells, and maki vegetarian spring rolls.) A good time was had by all taking pictures in the photo booth, creating orchid-stone-floating-candle centerpieces, and dancing the night away to the beats of a live DJ.
“We wanted to commemorate our first year as the inaugurating class,” said class representative Dhaatri Kuchipudi, who organized the event with students Irene Kim, David Orfhali, Anna Basovich, and Aesha Patel. “We went through lots of achievements (and hardships!) together this past year, and blended well as a cohesive group.”
“After two semesters of hard work, the event was a well-deserved celebration," agreed Dean Kenneth Steier. “We are so proud of our very first year of medical students."
