One Hundred Black Men of America (OHBM) Donates to TouroCOM’s Minority Students

First Vice President of OHBM Aldrin Enis presented the check to TouroCOM’s Director of Community Affairs Dr. John Palmer during the group’s recent monthly meeting at TouroCOM on February 3, 2015. In attendance at the ceremony were influential African-American members of OHBM such as New York Republican State Committee Strategic Advisor, John Burnett.

“100 Black Men and TouroCOM have been community partners for a long time,” said Dr. Palmer. “Dean Goldberg has made space available for their monthly meetings ever since he had began working here as the dean, and they’ve been supporting TouroCOM for quite a while in the community as well. Yet this is the first time they are making a direct contribution, and we are very happy and grateful that they are leading the way to raise awareness about this underfunded group.”

The philanthropic movement seeks to empower African-Americans to achieve educational success within their communities and to widen opportunities for minority youth to become leaders in their aspiring careers.

“To be recognized as an important source of medical education is wonderful,” said Dean Robert Goldberg. “Receiving a gift from the One Hundred Black Men is a milestone of historical significance.”
