Newbie Workshop, Newbie Researchers

Dr. Piotr B. Kozlowski, Dean of Research at TouroCOM is passionate about science and research (just ask him for a tour of the labs). This summer he’s offering a class to give TouroCOM students (and non-TouroCOM students – there were even three exceptional high school students from Brooklyn Tech) the skills they need to venture into the lab and start their own research. He’s sure he’ll find some budding researchers among them and his happy to save a spot for them in the lab. “Applied Biotechnology: A hands-on approach for learning current laboratory research techniques” is the course title for this research class and among other things it introduced students to gel electrophoresis, western blot, DNA fingerprinting.
