New York, N.Y. – Touro President and CEO and renowned cardiologist, Dr. Alan Kadish (center), was presented with honorary scrub by the third grade “Scrubs Club” from Harlem’s P.S. 197 elementary school, after teaching a lesson on the heart.

The third graders were each dressed in scrubs and given their own stethoscopes and taught how to use them by Dr. Kadish and Touro’s physician assistant students. The event was part of an initiative called Project Aspire, run through the Children Health Education Foundation of Touro College, which operates a program to increase youth awareness about healthy life choices and the importance of medical practitioners in today’s world. Throughout the lesson the students repeated the program motto, “Yes, I Can!’
