Physicians for Human Rights will be hosting guest speaker, JD Stier, Campaign Director of Stand with Congo, an inclusive social movement hub uniting activists, civil society leaders, techies, private sector innovators, and other global citizens with the Congo peace movement. We will watch a beta version of Stand With Congo’s thirty minute film that follows the Congolese struggle forhuman rights and democracy from independence to today, including the non-violent youth pro-democracy movement and push for mining transparency.
Mr. Stier will lead a discussion about the effectiveness of the film, and students will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback about how to enhance the documentary.
There will be snacks!
