The Wellness Committee will be hosting a QPR Training for students. This workshop was held last year and received such great feedback that it is being offered again this year.

What is QPR? QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.

Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying "Yes" to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor.

This training will be led by Mr. Sean Gerow who's bio can be found in the attached flyer. At the end of this training all student participants will receive a certificate as a "Gatekeeper" which QPR institute describes as: someone who is strategically positioned to recognize and refer someone at risk of suicide.

The event will include dinner beforehand and the training will last approximately 1 hour. We have a limit of 60 students so please sign up on the attache google doc if you are interested!

If you want to learn more about QPR before signing up the website of the program is: https://qprinstitute.com/about-qpr

** Student Participants will receive a Certificate of QPR Gatekeeper Status after the workshop**
