Steven Kiffel attended Touro’s Lander College of Arts and Sciences and New York School of Career and Applied Studies for his undergraduate degree.

Kiffel said he was influenced to become a doctor by watching his father who worked as a pediatrician. His decision to become a physician was also bolstered  when he shadowed several physicians while in college. “I was drawn to becoming a doctor initially, but when I started volunteering and shadowing other doctors it really solidified for me,” said Kiffel. Before attending TouroCOM Middletown, Kiffel performed research in Touro College of Pharmacy’s lab under Dr. Zvi Loewy. He looked at oral biofilms and researched dysbiosis and its effect on the respiratory system.

Families Ties: Kiffel is married and the proud father of two girls, ages three and seven months. “My family is an anchor for me,” said Kiffel. “It’s nice to be able to leave medical school and have something to come home to each night.”
