Saba Ilyas graduated from Stony Brook University with a degree in biology and a concentration in genetics. “I was fascinated by how diseases transfer from one generation to the next,” said Ilyas.
Ilyas said that she knew she wanted to be a doctor from when she started volunteering in hospitals as an adolescent. “I liked the empathy that doctors had,” said Ilyas. “And how even a simple hello would bring a smile to patients’ faces.” Ilyas is a graduate of the TouroCOM Harlem Master of Science Program in Interdisciplinary Studies in Biological and Physical Sciences. “Touro gave me a chance to prove that I was able to handle the rigorous coursework of medical school,” said Ilyas.
She Also Loves: Ilyas is an avid basketball player and enjoys knitting.
