Dominque Pean

Dominique Pean’s parents moved to McAllen, Texas to open a medical practice because they realized that the population in the city was dramatically underserved. “Their level of care and concern for their fellow man inspired me and pointed me towards the medical profession,” said Pean.

He attended the Catholic University of America and graduated with a degree in psychology and a minor in philosophy.  He earned an MPH from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and worked in the hospital’s project management office during the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. In his work there, he helped the hospital transition from a fee-based program to a value-based coverage, with the aim of mitigating potentially preventable ER visits. Pean is a graduate of the master’s program. “When I saw the email that I had been accepted into the class of 2023, I couldn’t speak. It was the culmination of so many years of work.”

Favorite Show and Philosopher: Pean’s favorite show is the concluded FX series Breaking Bad, and his favorite philosopher is Aristotle.
