How to Apply
New and continuing students have to apply for financial aid every year. Luckily, we make it simple.
Remember: you must be registered before we can process aid.
Apply for Aid in 8 Steps
Step 1: File your Federal Income Tax Return
Complete your 2015 federal income tax return. Include your spouse’s information, if you are married and did not file jointly.
Step 3: Complete a FAFSA on or after January 1st
Visit www.FAFSA.ed.gov to submit your FAFSA online.
Touro College – New York School Code: 010142
Step 4: Review the Cost of Attendance (COA)
The maximum amount of aid applied for in a year cannot exceed the COA for that year.
Step 5: Take the Entrance Counseling
First time borrowers must take the Entrance Counseling, an online tutorial that details students’ rights and responsibilities as loan borrowers. Log in with your PIN at www.studentloans.gov and complete the Plus Loan Counseling.
Step 6: Sign Electronic Master Promissory Note (eMPN)
First time borrowers taking out a Direct Unsubsidized Loan must visit www.studentloans.gov to sign an eMPN. Direct Grad PLUS Loans require a separate eMPN.
Step 7: Private/Alternative Loan
Notify the Financial Aid Office of any private or alternative loans you apply for so that we can accept the loans.
Step 8: You will receive your final financial aid instructions through your Touro College email. Please monitor your Touro email account daily.
