New York, N.Y. – Touro College and University System President and CEO Dr. Alan Kadish today announced the appointment of Kenneth J. Steier, DO, MBA, MPH, MHA, MGH as Campus Dean for the new Middletown campus of Harlem-based Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM). The Middletown campus, currently under construction, is scheduled to open in August 2014 and is expected to enroll more than 500 students when fully operational.

New York, N.Y. – The patient was in so much pain from falling off a hammock that she was limping and didn’t want to move - even to flex her toes. The medical student placed her on a table, lying on her stomach, where she manipulated her legs, knees and feet to relax her muscles. Ten minutes later she got up and was walking normally.

New York, N.Y. – The Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM) in Harlem graduated its third class yesterday, conferring 124 candidates with the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.

Approximately 50 students, faculty and staff from the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM), St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, and the local medical community participated in a forum held recently at TouroCOM titled: “Adolescent Mental Health: A Triad of Intervention.” 

New York, N.Y. – About half of the medical students graduating this spring from the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM) in Harlem have been matched to primary care residencies and a similar number will remain in New York and New Jersey, according to results from the school’s third consecutive “Match Days.”  Additionally, graduates matched to many of the most prestigious residency programs in the country.

New York, N.Y. — Harlem-based Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM) today announced it will open the nation’s first Virtual Training Center to utilize 3D holographic technology and other state-of-the-art equipment that will allow students to visualize, create and experience the human anatomy.

Forty-three students from the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM) in Harlem joined with over a thousand DOs and osteopathic medical students on March 14 to visit with elected officials about key health policy issues that affect osteopathic medicine.
