What is OMM?

Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) uses the hands to diagnose and then treat the body through manipulation that encourages the body to heal itself, naturally. OMM, sometimes also known as Osteopathic Medical Therapy or Osteopathic Medical Treatment (OMT), focuses on the musculoskeletal system and its relationship with the rest of the body. DO’s use their hands to feel for tenderness, asymmetry, or restricted motion in their patients’ muscle and soft tissue, and to guide their limbs into different positions during treatment.

Who can OMM help?

Anyone, at any age - babies, children and adults - can benefit from osteopathic manipulative therapy.

How can osteopathic manipulation help you?

OMM can help treat a wide range of conditions. As an example, OMT can improve sleep and relieve pain for pregnant women, help infants who have colic or feeding difficulties, and improve physical fitness and injury prevention. What else can osteopathic manipulative therapy help with?
