Dr. Joyce Brown serves as the Director of Simulation, the Vice Chair of the Department of Primary Care and is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine – Middletown Campus. She is a board certified Emergency Medicine Physician. She received her B.A. in Biology from S.U.N.Y. Binghamton and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from The University of New England. She completed a dual residency in Emergency Medicine, and Internal Medicine at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Recently, she earned the “Certified Simulation Healthcare Educator” credential. Dr. Brown’s interests include medical simulation, curriculum design, assessment, and patient safety. Her most recent grant was from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and was entitled, ”Simulation Based Training of Medical Students for the Practice of Primary Care Medicine”.  She is an active member of The Society for Simulation in Healthcare, Association of Standardized Patient Educators, The American College of Emergency Physicians, and the American Osteopathic Association.
