To increase awareness of the spectrum of clinical practice in PM&R and encourage medical students to explore career opportunities within the field of PM&R. Vision: The PMRIG will provide Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine students greater exposure to the field of PM&R, with opportunities for mentorship, education, and hands-on experience with PM&R faculty and residents.
Why Join? Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is an imperative field of medicine that aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities. Having great emphasis on the musculoskeletal system, it especially appeals to Osteopathic Medical students. As a matter of fact a substantial number of DO's practice PM&R and are highly regarded and recognized. Our Goal is to increase awareness and promote PMRIG to educate ourselves and fellow classmates on the importance, benefits and appeals of this specialty.
We hope to have workshops, speakers and other great events in the near future.
