Why Medicine

"Medicine gives me the opportunity to be a leader and an agent of change. I did advocacy work as an undergrad and while getting my Masters of Public Health. Towards the last couple of years, I worked with survivors of sexual violence and women who didn’t feel safe on campus and in their communities. Through medicine there’s a greater ability to create change. I feel, that as a doctor, you are able to provide people with a platform to voice their opinions."

Why Touro

"I felt like New York was a great place to be. In New York I could be close to a place that has access to resources and different opportunities than those I had in California. Another reason was that the osteopathic field clicked with me. As an undergraduate, I was part of a program that offered survivors of sexual violence yoga and I was able to see how beneficial movement was and how powerful it was to help people understand their bodies."

Fun Fact about Sara
